He was the first but not the last. Each time a new penguin was added Sigmund would have that brief moment of fear that he would finally be replaced. It never happened since he was the one that Anita reached for those times when she needed something soft and cuddly to sleep with. He was unique because he was the only one that got named. The other penguins were nameless although they each named themselves.
Eventually his worry faded away because he knew that he was the favorite. All of the other penguins wished they could take his place. Those times when Anita reached out for some furry comfort it was always Sigmund that she grabbed while the others sat and watched. It wasn't easy because there were a few times when Sigmund got tossed off the bed but mostly it was nice bringing comfort to Anita when she needed it.
