Now I'm a fan of Buffy and Angel and of course it goes without saying that Joss Whedon rocks but I decided to check out this show. I know that seeing the commercial would bring some deja vu moments like a vampire on a rooftop sounds very familiar. A vampire in LA and he's a detective which would lead to fans thinking this is just some cheap knock off of a far superior show.

I figured I'd check it out and I later found out that Jason Dohring is on it too and since Veronica Mars was killed I was glad to see him on something because I admit I kind of love Logan. Sure you could go and pick bits and pieces and say he took this from here or there but you could say the same about Veronica Mars. This is done by the same one that did that show and she was a PI so you could say he took that and instead of a girl he used a vampire to do the detecting.

I happen to love vampires and face it there are so many books and movies that some stuff is bound to bleed into one another but I think this isn't some knock off of Angel although there are a few areas that are similar. This show has a different take on vampires because this one can go out in the sun in small doses. He injects his blood which I find odd and he sleeps in a freezer in his underwear. Wouldn't that hurt if he got stuck?

If I were a vampire I wouldn't want to sleep in a freezer. Maybe that prevents him from giving off that I'm dead odor while he's sleeping. The vampires on this show seem to have some different powers like being able to glimpse images of things that happened which is a good thing for Beth otherwise she would have been a goner. So far I would have to say that I like it. There really aren't that many vampire shows so I like it when one turns up although they never seem to have a very long shelf life.

I enjoyed Blade but I think it was on the wrong station since Spike is the guy's version of Lifetime and of course Blood Ties is a great show that is coming back for a second season or if you think about it the rest of season one because you just end up with a grand total of twenty-two episodes. That one is on Lifetime which I find a weird place for it to be and the future of it is up in the air which sucks. I think the show is worth checking out and this is from a Buffy and Angel fan but I'm also a Veronica Mars fan so those fans might be interested as well and I'm sure that I'm not the only one that loves all three shows.
